About teenager crime...

Last week, I had many thoughts as listening to ‘Teenager crime’. It is increasing sharply ,which I couldn’t imagine when I was young. This raises doubts whether Korea has regarded courtesy as important.

I thought why teenager crimes increase. First, as society continually is opened, teenagers can easily approach the culture of adult and other countries having more open cultures than Korea. The problem is that children unconsciously accept raunchy and violent things before they have concept about what is good and what is bad. So, they don’t know that what they are doing is whether a crime or not.

Second reason is that punishment-authority of teacher’s is weakened. By reason of human rights, the weakened the standard of punishment has limits to inculcate guilty conscience to children.

Finally, acts from adults affect teenagers ,also. Every now and then, I see the articles that a parent visited a school and did battle with teachers when a teacher punished his child, which is same that the parent say to his son “you didn’t do anything wrong”.

And in the social aspect, now, the crime rate of adults is increasing but, if in this situation, the crime rate of children decreased, is it strange?

  1. Yes, agree on ur last mention. nowdays, parents do over-protect their children, which makes the empowerment of teachers in school weaker.
