We should reconsider installing the women-only cars

Above all, I appreciate your attention in my presentation-The women-only cars in the subway. As preparing this presentation, I searched many positions on for and against. I think that the purpose to decrease sexual harassment rate is good, but that the way is wrong.

First, it is right to operate not advice system but legal monitoring system to present sexual harassment. After the women-only cars are installed, if a sexual harassment is happened, it is deeply served as the foundational thought that the victim and assailant have shoulder the responsibility. To make ‘safe subway’, subway should be safe literally. It is wrong to request a person to exploit a subway safely. As a result, this is what shifts the responsibility of a service provider to a consumer. So, I think that the construction of more reinforced monitoring system must take precedence rather than the women-only cars.

Secondly, for women to utilize the women-only cars is not duty but a right. So, when the women-only cars are full, one will go general cars to search for empty seat or comfortable position. In this situation happened sexual harassment could be interpreted strangely as it is happened because a woman gives up woman’s right. In plain language, it makes the thought that the woman who doesn’t utilize the women-only cars is the woman who exposes herself to the risk of sexual harassment. Although women have the right to utilize general cars equally, this system tacitly deprives a woman of the social right to use the general cars.

About teenager crime...

Last week, I had many thoughts as listening to ‘Teenager crime’. It is increasing sharply ,which I couldn’t imagine when I was young. This raises doubts whether Korea has regarded courtesy as important.

I thought why teenager crimes increase. First, as society continually is opened, teenagers can easily approach the culture of adult and other countries having more open cultures than Korea. The problem is that children unconsciously accept raunchy and violent things before they have concept about what is good and what is bad. So, they don’t know that what they are doing is whether a crime or not.

Second reason is that punishment-authority of teacher’s is weakened. By reason of human rights, the weakened the standard of punishment has limits to inculcate guilty conscience to children.

Finally, acts from adults affect teenagers ,also. Every now and then, I see the articles that a parent visited a school and did battle with teachers when a teacher punished his child, which is same that the parent say to his son “you didn’t do anything wrong”.

And in the social aspect, now, the crime rate of adults is increasing but, if in this situation, the crime rate of children decreased, is it strange?
